Road to 2024

There are elections happening in three states right now, and two more will happen soon. The main focus of the campaign is two things: splitting people into two groups and improving the well-being of the community. If dividing people into groups is helping political parties in cities, then in the countryside, the focus has been on helping people with welfare programs.

The BJP is really eager to win elections in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, keep control in Madhya Pradesh, and become stronger in Telangana. They are also making promises about schemes that they used to call “revdis” in the past. In Mizoram, the BJP is not very popular.

This pressure on plans is very important in Madhya Pradesh, where the announcements focused on women are the main hope of its Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has been in office for four terms.

Senior Congress leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stole the Congress’s idea of giving guarantees, which was a big factor in the Congress winning in Karnataka.

Hindutva plus welfare emerges as BJP pitch for polls

In Chhattisgarh, during the election campaign, both the BJP and Congress focused on Hindu-related issues. Just four days before the first voting day on November 7, the BJP made some promises. These included selling cooking gas cylinders for Rs 500 to poor families and giving Rs 12,000 per year to married women.

One sign of this was how the Congress and its CM Bhupesh Baghel reacted quickly to the BJP’s announcements. They promised to give Rs 15,000 a year to all women if they were voted back into power.

BJP leaders think that their strong campaign at the end of the election, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, caused JD(S) supporters to vote for them instead of the Congress.

Hindutva issues have also been discussed this time. Speaking at a gathering in Raghogarh, Madhya Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked, “Do you want to see Ram Lalla or not. Don’t worry about the costs. ” If you vote for the BJP, the party government will help you visit Ram Lalla in Ayodhya for free.

In Chhattisgarh, he said that the state is where “Lord Ram’s mother, Kaushalya, was born. ” Shah kept saying that PM Modi will open the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22. He also said that the BJP would start a plan to allow people to see the baby Ram statue if they win the election in the state.

The Baghel government is working on a project called Ram Van Gaman Path, which follows the route that Ram is believed to have traveled during his exile.

Under the Lado Protsahan Yojana, the government plans to create a savings bond of Rs 2 lakh for a girl child if the BJP government is in power.

In Telangana, the BJP said they will give free trips to Ayodhya.

Kamal Nath said that if the Congress is elected, they will restart the project to build a Sita temple in Sri Lanka, which was stopped when his government ended.

The Congress is ready to talk about the Hindutva issue and help people, so the BJP has to do the same. Prior to the recent Assembly elections, the party said they would give free LPG cylinders to women in poor families, and give Rs 25,000 to pregnant women in Himachal Pradesh. Before the Gujarat elections, the government said they would give two free gas cylinders to people who are part of the PM’s Ujjawala Scheme.

It has tried to show that its plans are different from the Congress’s promises by saying they are meant to make women stronger.

However, people within the BJP party agree that in Karnataka, providing guarantee schemes can influence people to vote. Economic problems are becoming more important in elections, so policies that focus on welfare and free gifts will continue. Also, in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan where over 90% of the people are Hindu, dividing people based on religion has its boundaries.

A leader also said that these types of plans might keep happening. With prices going up and many people not having a job, the BJP needs to make popular promises even during the Lok Sabha elections.
